Meet Françoise Isugi Wihogora - a fresh graduate, nutritionist, and one of the rising stars driving community transformation through Heza Initiative in Burera District.
Stepping into the field straight from university, Françoise brought more than academic knowledge — she brought energy, curiosity, and a genuine passion for serving families. Her transition from classroom to community has been marked by remarkable personal and professional growth.
Every day, Françoise walks alongside families, listening to their concerns, understanding their realities, and supporting them in adopting simple, practical health practices that improve their wellbeing. Her ability to connect with parents, Front Line Functionaries (FLFs), and local leaders has made her a trusted presence in the villages she serves.
Despite being early in her career, her impact is already visible: strengthened household behaviors, improved feeding practices for young children, and enhanced collaboration with FLFs and local structures. She has also embraced the challenge of working in a high-burden district, showing resilience, humility, and an inspiring drive to make a difference.
As a young professional, she is proving that youth are not just beneficiaries of development;they are key actors shaping the future.
Her compassion and growing expertise make her a powerful example of what it means to serve with purpose.
Françoise is not just a field staff member; she is a Face of Change, turning knowledge into action and inspiring others lead positive transformation in their communities.
Working as a field staff has shaped me both personally and professionally as a nutritionist. Seeing the positive changes in families’ nutrition and wellbeing inspires me daily. What I enjoy most in the field is working closely with families, impacting their lives and learning from their experience. I encourage other youth to serve communities — it brings growth, experience, and meaningful impact.”
